Hamas on its YouTube channel posted a Hebrew version of its popular battle song “Shake Israel’s Security”, taunting Israel in an act of psychological warfare to go with the physical conflict in Israel. The Arabic version of the song has for long been an anthem of the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the group’s military wing.
The Hebrew translation posted on the Brigades’ YouTube channel, set to a dramatic orchestral score, proclaims, “Wipe out all the Zionists…burn soldiers and their bases. Exterminate the cockroach nest, expel all the Zionists.”
“They are startled by death and hide behind walls and protection. Rain upon them many rockets. Make their world into a horror”, the song jibes.
Since Tuesday, Hamas and Israel have been locked in a war from southern Israel to Hamas-stronghold Gaza Strip. Air strikes on Friday on coastal territory led to the death of the 100th Palestinian in the past four days, as Hamas continued to pound Israel with rocket fire, sending thousands fleeing to bomb shelters.
Additionally Israel’s air defenses on Friday took out three rockets over Tel Aviv. Hamas has said that they had targeted Ben Gurion airport, Israel’s main international airport outside Tel Aviv. The airport was closed briefly before normal operations resumed.
The al-Qassam Brigades responded quickly, and urged foreign airliners to not use Israeli airports.
“We are sending a message to all foreign airlines operating flights into the Zionist entity, asking them to stop flying into the entity because of the dangers surrounding all the airports due to the ongoing war”, it said.
Earlier in the week, fake messages claiming to come from Israel’s mainstream media announced that 25 people had died in a rocket strike on the port city Haifa, where, so far, no hits have been confirmed. Israel is also known to play the PSYOP game, regularly hacking Gaza radio broadcasts and delivering mass SMS texts warning that Hamas is taking them down a disastrous road.
